=snapshots=

So, the following pictures are just a few "snapshots" of the first couple weeks of 2012.  There's a nice jumble of gormet cappuccinos (my dad calls them coffee for snobby people... I call them delicious) and spread sheets, a doodle I did at work, a picture of me and two friends during ceramics class (plus a cat), two friends totally knocked out on the car ride home after going to the Rose Parade and practically staying up all night, & a picture of me and my new "boyfriend" Sean. Basically, that's it.  I don't want to type anything more tonight.

Enjoy:

true/false

So the other night I was talking to one of my best friends, Katie, about how someone on Facebook changed their relationship status but didn't say who they were in a relationship with.  People were freaking out and asking who this person was going out with with and I couldn't help but crack up because it was hilarious.  People are way into everyone's' lives.  As we continued talking about it, I thought it would be the most genius, hilarious thing to set my relationship status to "in a relationship" even though I'm not.  I don't even really have anything going on with any guy at the moment and almost everyone and their mother knows that, but still..... more than forty people "liked" my relationship change, I got fifteen confused text messages, received a crap load of Facebook messages and a ton of comments on the change.   It was so funny because Katie was the only one who knew it was fake, but some of my other really close friends just played along even though they weren't part of it at all.  They commented stuff like "You guys are so cute together!", "finally!! took you long enough!", and even one made up this mystery guy down to his eye color.  I think its so interesting that people take everything on Facebook so seriously like its the verification for everything that happens in everyone's lives.  I feel bad to fooling everyone, but you have to admit, it's really funny.  Like, what the heck who does that?  Oh yeah, Caroline!

el cine

I'm not a fan of movie theaters, but I am definitively a fan of movies.  Especially movies that are either sad, based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, or all lovey-dovey and sad.  There are a couple movies come out and I am dying to see them.. Some in this post are already out but I haven't seen them yet and I'm still dying to.

summer-- i mean winter

Living in wonderful Southern California means I've never really experienced winter the way winter is supposed to be.  And this winter vacation didn't fail.  Instead of snow, or even rain, it was a nice seventy-five degree average the whole break.  Yep, welcome to California.  So while everyone else in the world was playing in the snow, snuggling by the fire, and drinking bucket loads of cocoa, us lucky Californians were tanning at the beach and cranking up the A/C.

Because my younger sister, Rachel, is the little photographer that she is, we went down to Santa Monica with two of our friends for a little photo shoot.  Waking up before the normal eleven o'clock winter vacay alarm clock, we teased our hair like no other and put on lots of beach clothes and... fur.  Yep, fur.  I love fur.  I must say it was quite the experience, especially in Santa Monica.  Everywhere we went people were giving us weird looks and staring, but I'm kind of used to it always modeling for my sister.  The whole experience was a lot of fun and the pictures came out amazing.  I'm kind of obsessed with them actually.

:lemonade:

Honestly, there a few things better in life than a glass of lemonade.  Like can we all be honest?  It's so freaking delicious and is almost always appealing.  Today at brunch with my dad and siblings, I had this fantastic lemonade and now I just want more!  Here's a super complicated recipe just like the one I had today!  Make sure you follow the directions very carefully because like it's really difficult... ;)

Berry-tastic Lemonade
1 glass pink lemonade
1 strawberry
5-6 blueberries

Ventura Blvd

I think one of my places in all of LA would have to be Ventura Blvd and it's not only because its referenced in one of my all time favorite songs.  I love the atmosphere and the mix of thrift shops, high end boutiques and all the hole-in-the-wall restaurants that are basically at every other doorstop.  Because I'm currently on winter vacation, me and my neighbor Monica decided it'd be fun to take a little day trip down there to do some thrifting-- one of my all time favorite activities.  So we turned up the Tom Petty and drove down the 101 and spent our lovely ninety degree winter break days filing through racks and racks of old and new clothes.  We ended up coming home with a sweater with puppies on it to share, a wolf ring, a jacket for Monica's brother, and a knock-off Chanel bag.  Normally, I do more damage, but of course I'm saving money for Europe, so I only spent a total of seventeen dollars.  Not too shabby if you ask me!
