summer.come.back.

Today I realized how much I miss summer, and how the summer of 2011 was probably my last summer completely home because I plan on having amazing adventures over the next couple summers.  It's a little sad, but okay.  I was looking through some old albums on Facebook from the summer and I realized that leaving is exactly what I need to do this summer.  I never really fit in with the crowd of people I was hanging out with then, so doing my own thing this summer is exactly what I need to do.  But nonetheless, I still had some amazing adventures in summer '11 and these are just a few of my photographs of some of the places I stumbled upon.  I actually applaud myself for taking some legit photographs!

enjoy!

mySpace

Today, because I got out of school at 10:15, my mom made me clean my room.  My friend who is staying with me in my room came back from San Francisco tonight so I had to make it look presentable, and then this little post came about.  I thought I would show all my little followers where I blog from.  Soooo, this is my room!

Recently I've decided that I love to wear black and white.  That might seem strange to you if you know me personally because you would then know that I tend to wear lots of flowery colors and have a very boho/indie sense of style.  But I just look to wear the classics, and I somehow manage to make it work with my style and make it look classy.  I like it call it Classy Boho!
I think the key to looking classy is the proper us of black and white.  What's classier than black and white?  Pale pink? Maybe.  Black and white is so clean and crisp and always looks good together no matter what so therefore, it's classy.  Sometimes, people wear black and white to hide from fashion, but really black and white is probably one of the most fashionable mixtures of color out there.  Think Coco Chanel-- all black and white-- one of the worlds most popularly known designers.  Black and white can do so much for a person.  It can make you look ten years older if you're young like me, or ten years younger if you've been alive for longer than thirty years.  Black and white is the magic in fashion.  It's the basis for everything.  Black and white is simply exquisite.

YUM 101

So, maybe its because of all the stress from school or the pressure from my parents (and myself) to have enough money to basically buy everything and anything I need other than the necessities, but I have recently discovered how much I enjoy making and eating food.  Especially food that doesn't come out of a box, unlike the rest of my family.  The more ingredients the better, that's how I see it.  I admit, I eat a fair amount of food, but I always make sure its the best food taste-wise and calorie-wise.  I think one of the most relaxing things is coming home from a long day at school or work to the house all to myself then coming up with something from all the randomness found in the fridge, all while blasting some Miley Cyrus or Dixie Chicks.
While my friend's mom was here from Spain, she cooked our family an authentic Spanish omelet and ever since that dinner, I keep craving it.  It's probably one of the best things I've ever eaten.  It's breakfast that's dinner.   And its not one of those things that's actually a breakfast food you eat at night time because it's trendy or a spur-of-the-moment meal... This thing is a legit dinner food, except its all breakfast!  Seriously, the food gods must have made this dish just for me.  I love breakfast.
Because I loved this wonderful omelet so much, after my friend's mom went back home to Spain (gah, 146 days!!) I decided that I'd try to whip something just like it up and this is what I came up with:

Ingredients
1 large egg
1 tsp milk
1/2 small red potato, diced
1/2 sausage link, pre-cooked
1 tsp mild salsa
1 tsp Mexican blend cheese
salt and pepper for seasoning

mirror, mirror

There's no simpler way to put it... my face looks better backwards.  Now, I'm not one of those girls who completely hates the way they look-- I mean, there are things I'd change about my face and how I smile or how my eyes shaped, but I'm not complaining.  I don't think I'm one of the prettiest girls out there or a jaw-dropper, but I know I'm not ugly.  But there's one thing I hate more than anything: the difference between what your camera says you look like and what your mirror says you look like.  The mirror always wins.  I always find that I think I look prettier via mirror.  I look more awake, prettier, and more like me.... I think?  If you ask me, its pretty weird that we'll never actually get to see what we look like to other people.  Like ever.  And if I look like what I look like in just a straight-up camera photograph, I'm screwed because I always look like a tired zombie.
